Sage Living Designs is an architecture and design studio specializing in custom residential remodels, renovations and new construction projects.

Amber McQuown, Principal of Sage Living Designs, has over 15 years experience designing custom homes in the San Francisco Bay Area, working with notable local architects before starting her own practice, including Colin Russell AIA of Russell Architects, Larry Davis AIA, Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM) in San Francisco, and Ron Sutton AIA and Elizabeth Suzuki AIA of Sutton Suzuki Architects. She has taken her practice to Australia and moved her Mill Valley, California office to Valla Beach, New South Wales.

Her projects range from small-scale facade improvements and kitchen / bath remodels, to complete home renovations and new custom residences. She focuses on holistic designs that are beautiful, functional and livable.

Amber's style is adaptable and her designs span a range of architectural styles. She delights in designing homes that reflect the personal style of her clients... from a modern-rustic farmhouse, to a Hamptons style home, to a sustainable passive solar house, Amber is an expert at researching and developing an authentic design for the home of your dreams.

Her philosophy is that a home is not just about street presence, but how you live in it, every day. The interior is as much a reflection of your life as the welcome you receive at your front door and should reflect your daily practical needs as well as your personal style. As such, Amber's design services are typically all inclusive of the building design as well as the interior spaces, cabinetry, finishes and fixtures.

Trained as both a Project Architect and Project Manager, Amber focuses on quality of design, as well as the technical detailing of a project, and efficiency in budget and schedule. She is involved in all aspects of a project, from initial conceptual design through to construction detailing and site observation.

Our office is located in Valla Beach, NSW serving the Mid North Coast, down to Sydney and up to Brisbane.
